Making the headlines globally today is the effects of the current oil price on the lives of humans. In Malaysia, the story is the same, but the population has a way of handling the situation.

BMI News Portal

The BMI News Portal will have an  in-depth look at and will try to analyse news and events taking place in Malaysia,  in particular those having a direct impact on the daily lives of ordinary Malaysians. We will look at them from every possible angle and perspective, more importantly we will look at their relationship and influence on the lives of the people. We will go behind the news to get at the real thing.

As Malaysians we realize that the  government is doing its best to bring a good life to all of us. Towards this end programs and activities are being planned and implemented. We have seen many. And along with them we have also seen development embracing every aspect of our life - from education, health and medicine, science and technology, agriculture, to social and industrial programs.

The question now is how long are we going to be dependent on the government - allowing it to do everything for us. Are we not thinking of taking an active role in the development process? Are we not thinking of contributing some ideas to the development machinery responsible. After all we are the people and we certainly know what we want in our lives.

And the next question is - will the powers that be ever take notice of our good and sincere intentions. These are questions which are playing in the minds of every responsible Malaysian. The question of trying to do what is best for us, everyone of us - irrespective of race, religion or political ideologies, is the main issue.

The BMI News Portal will make an effort to answer these questions truthfully. In other words, we will present yet another source of news about Malaysia, about Malaysians - our hopes and aspirations. We hope to be a good, reliable  and credible alternative. We hope to present Malaysia the  way  we  Malaysians see it - an active, progressive, dynamic and vibrant nation.

Malaysia just celebrated her 51st Independence Day (Hari Merdeka). The way forward looks very promising and bright. Let’s hope this auspicious day will be the mile stone and bench mark as regards to the way Malaysia moves forward into the ever challenging future.
